Just taking a moment to sincerely thank all of my customers for your loyalty and patronage.  It is a true blessing to see our community pull together in times of need.  Please continue to support your small, local businesses that will struggle to survive after all of this is over.  Check on your neighbors, the elderly, take care of each other, and PRAY!  We will all be better people at the end of this pandemic.

FUZZY LLAMA SANGRIA

OUR NEWEST SANGRIA  - "THE FUZZY LLAMA"
Mix our CRAZY LLAMA RED with WHITE GRAPE PEACH JUICE (Equal Parts) Stir and add frozen peaches as your ice cubes.  We prefer to chill this wine and juice prior to mixing your sangria.  DO NOT ADD ICE ... it weakens the flavor.  We recommend Wal-Mart's GREAT VALUE brand of white grape peach juice.  It's light and refreshing.  The other brands are too sweet and syrupy.  Make it one glass at a time or by the pitcher.  It's that EASY!  Cheers to you!  ENJOY!!!

MULLED BELLISSIMO

LOOKING FOR A NICE WARM DRINK FOR THE FALL AND WINTER?  Look no further...
Get out your Crock Pot and let's get started!
You'll need:

*1 bottle of RISING SONS "Bellissimo Bianco" wine
* 4 cups of apple cider
1 or 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
1 Gala Apple - sliced
Cinnamon

Pour the wine and cider in the crock pot.  Add cinnamon to your taste.  I sprinkled a little on top.  Add the brown sugar to taste.  You might want to start with 1 spoonful, then add another if you think it needs it.  Stir, and add apple slices.  I started mine out on high to get it good and hot, then dropped it down to low to "mull".  I served it after a couple of hours.
This is a fun little drink for the holidays.  ENJOY!

CHICKEN IN WINE SAUCE

Posted on March 25, 2013 at 10:12 AM Comments comments (818)
This recipe is a RISING SONS favorite!  It doesn't require a lot of ingredients and is very easy to put together.  Plus, my men LOVE it!  I usually fix it with mashed potatoes, my homegrown Silver Queen Corn from the freezer, and broiled asparagus.

CHICKEN IN WINE SAUCE

Ingredients:
I bag of frozen chicken tenderloins or 4 large chicken breasts
8 slices of swiss cheese
1 Can Cream of Chicken Soup
1/4 Cup of white wine (We use our VIGNOLES or BELISSIMO BIANCO)
1 box of stuffing mix (I usually get Chicken Flavored but you can use herb flavored, too)
1/2 - whole stick of butter melted (If you're watching your fat content use 1/2 stick, if you don't care and like it buttery...use the whole thing!!)
Salt and pepper to taste...(I don't add salt since the soup has so much sodium.  I do use garlic pepper because of it's robust flavor!)

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350.  Place chicken in 9 X 13 pan that has been sprayed with PAM.  Layer the cheese on top of the chicken.  Mix the soup and wine together along with salt and pepper.  Pour over the cheese.  Sprinkle the dry stuffing mix on top.  Drizzle with butter.  Bake for
45-60 minutes.  *Keep an eye on this after 45 minutes.  You don't want your stuffing to get too brown.  If it gets brown too early I lay a piece of foil on top without sealing it so it doesn't steam it.  I remove it for the last 5 minutes to let it crisp back up:)

STRAWBERRY SANGRIA

STRAWBERRY SANGRIA

I came up with this mixture for Valentine's Day.  It was a BIG hit!  This one would be perfect for a Ladies' Luncheon or Bridal Shower.  It has a slight hue of pink which adds to its "Girly" appeal!  Dress it up & keep it cool with Frozen Strawberries.

Here's what you need:

RISING SONS "BELLISSIMO BIANCO"
White Cranberry/Strawberry Juice
Frozen Strawberries

I like to put 3 frozen strawberries in the bottom of the wine glass.  Slowly pour 1/2 a glass of BELLISSIMO BIANCO over the strawberries.  Fill  the rest of the glass with white cranberry/strawberry juice.  That's all there is to it!  SIMPLE & DELICIOUS!  Try it for your next gathering.  You won't be disappointed!

Francine's Famous Cornbread...or at least Joe thinks so!

Francine's Famous Cornbread
Cornbread is a "comfort food" for me.  I guess that's because my mother fixed it almost everyday when I was a child.
The first thing you MUST have to make good ole country style cornbread is an iron skillet.  Mine was my grandmother's.  I have several, but this one I reserve just for my cornbread.  I keep it well-seasoned so the bread won't stick.  I NEVER, repeat, NEVER wash this skillet in soapy water.  I simply run hot water in it and rinse it with my dishcloth.  Then I dry it in a warm oven.  This keeps the skillet from rusting.  By the way, my skillet is 10" round at the bottom.
INGREDIENTS:
*2 Cups Hudson Cream or Three Rivers White Corn Meal Mix (these are my 2 favorite brands)
*1 C. Buttermilk
*1 egg
*1 TBSP Sugar
*1/4 Cup Canola Oil
*REAL BUTTER - to smear all over it after it's done!

Heat your oven to 425 degrees.  I like to pour enough oil in my skillet to  cover the bottom.  Make sure some of the oil gets around the edges of the skillet, too!  Put the skillet in the oven while it's preheating.  When the oven is almost at 425, beat your egg slightly in a mixing bowl.  Add the buttermilk and oil.  Stir.  Add cornmeal and stir until smooth and moist. If the mixture feels a little too stiff you can add a bit of water.   Pour the batter into your hot greased skillet.  Bake at 425 for 20-25 minutes.  I watch for mine to get nice and brown around the edges.  Then I lightly broil the top.  As soon as you get the skillet out of the oven, have a plate ready, and turn the skillet over onto the plate.  The nice brown crunchy side should be showing.  *(You don't want to leave it in the skillet, otherwise that side will steam and not be crusty...which is my FAVORITE PART!!)

**Best served with:  ANY MEAL!!!!!
